What if the buckle became a jewel you could change at will.

It all began in Yolet, a village in the Cantal that gave the house its name. I made my first buckles in my small workshop at home, with a simple intuition that has never changed.

Fifteen years on, our straps are still cut and sized by hand in our Cantal workshops.
Every piece is still a story of leather and hands.

Frequently asked questions

What are Yolète buckles?

Yolète is a French house born in the Cantal. Our buckles are interchangeable, handcrafted waist jewels that sit on a leather strap to dress the belt. One strap takes dozens of buckles, and the look changes with your mood.

What is a jewellery buckle?

A jewellery buckle is a buckle designed and worked like a piece of jewellery, in aged brass, old silver or antique gold, sometimes hand enamelled. It is no longer tied to a single belt. You take it off, put another on, and collect them season after season. One leather strap, dozens of buckles, and as many different looks.

How do you change the buckle on your belt?

The leather strap is fitted with press studs. The buckle goes on and comes off in one move, no tools needed. Open the studs to release the buckle, then fasten the one you want. You switch looks in a few seconds.

Where does our leather come from?

Most of our straps are cut from vegetable tanned leather, a more responsible choice. Plain or textured, embossed python, pony hair or glitter, they are cut and sized by hand in our Cantal workshops.

How are our buckles made?

Each season, nearly 45 new buckles are designed in house and crafted like jewellery. They are cast by an Italian artisan, then hand enamelled. Two collections come out each year, one for summer and one for winter.
